FARMER GOVERNOR UMARU BAGO INAUGURATES FIVE PROJECTS IN UMARU SANDA AHMADU COLLEGE OF EDUCATION MINNA

As part of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the College, Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has inaugurated five completed TETFUND projects at the Umaru Sanda Ahmadu College of Education Minna during the Institution's golden jubilee anniversary.

The projects include farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago CBT Centre, Malam Muhammad Awwal School of secondary education, Dr. Jummai Zainab Umaru Sanda Alumni National Secretariat, Dr. Usman Ahmed Bokani School of Education complex and Prof. Muhammad Auna agric science education complex.

Farmer Umaru Bago who was represented at the occasion by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman described the projects as laudable and acknowledged the legacy, impact, and service to education that the Institution has made in Niger State and Nigeria.

Farmer Bago said, Umaru Sanda Ahmadu College of Education has remained a beacon of teacher education, character formation, and academic discipline, producing graduates who continue to shape classrooms and communities across the country.

The Farmer governor used the medium to reiterate that, under the New Niger Agenda, education and human capital development remain top priorities and his administration will continue to invest in tertiary education through institutions such as Abdulkadir Kure University, the University of Climate Change, Mokwa, and sustain its support to the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.

Provost, Umaru Sanda Ahmadu College of Education Minna, Dr. Mohammed Baba in his remarks described the event as a celebration of a milestone of academic excellence and appreciated the foresight and initiative of the farmer governor towards the revamping of the education sector through his teacher education policy.

Alumni National President, Umaru Sanda Ahmadu College of Education Minna and Chairman, National Population Commission, Dr. Aminu Yusuf said the golden jubilee celebration of the Institution is a mark of resilience, and vision while also applauding the farmer governor for his support through his policies, interventions and infrastructural investments that have positively impacted teaching and learning.

Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Council of traditional rulers, Alh. Yahaya Abubakar represented at the event by the Wambai Nupe, Engr. Abdullahi Ndagi Aliyu charged management of the School to ensure that they maintain the standard and quality of the students they churn out and ensure that their certificates are worthy to be presented anywhere.

Speaker, Niger State House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, represented by the member representing Tafa Constituency, Muhammad Sani Idris described the 50 years jubilee of the Institution as significant and worthy of celebrating considering the massive transformation the School has witnessed over the years.

Chairman Code of Conduct Tribunal, Hon. Justice Mainasara Umar Kogo also presented the anniversary lecture where he reminded leaders of their responsibilities of being good leaders that will be emulated.

There were goodwill messages from the representatives of the executive secretary, National Commission for Colleges of Education, Prof. Paulinus Chijioke, President, Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, Dr. Ahmed Lawan Bazza and President, Colleges of Education Old Students Association of Nigeria, Dr. Shehu Salisu Rogo who all acknowledged the developmental strides of the institution.

The event also featured presentation of merit awards to distinguished personalities including the farmer governor, launching of the school magazine and anniversary cake.
