The Celebration started with prayer session at the College Central Mosque. Those in attendance include the Provost (Dr. Baba Mohammed) with his management team, the National President of the College Alumni association & Chairman National Population Commission (Dr. Aminu Yusuf), numerous Alumni of the College, staff, students, and the general public.
During the prayer session at the College Jummat Mosque as part of the 50 Years Celebration of the College.

The Darul Erkan Foundation has paid a courtesy visit to Umaru Sanda College of Education (COE), Minna, to inspect a site earmarked for the establishment of a Centre for Arabic and Islamic Studies and Research.

The Umaru Sanda Ahmadu College of Education, Minna was established as an Advanced Teachers’ College by the defunct North Western State Government on November 1st, 1975, to meet the growing demand for qualified teachers in the state.
In 1983, it was upgraded to a full College of Education through Niger State Edict N.S.L.N Number 3 of 1983. The leadership evolved from the first Provost, Late Dr. Umaru Sanda Ahmadu, to distinguished successors such as Dr. Gambo T. Yusuf, Dr. Bukar Emmanuel Naroka Dauda, Prof. Ibrahim Adamu Kolo, Prof. Faruk Rashid Haruna, Prof. Muhammad Yakubu Auna, and the current Provost, Dr. Muhammad Baba.
In a major milestone, Umar Sanda Ahmadu College of Education, Minna, has been upgraded to a Dual Mandate institution, empowering it to award both NCE and Degree certificates directly. Previously, the College offered NCE, Professional Diploma in Education, and degrees through affiliations with ABU Zaria and UDUS. This new status marks a significant leap in academic autonomy and growth.
